DESIGN

Our In-house design team, backed by vast experience and knowledge gained throughout the years, has equipped the company with the capability to executes complete design of Substation from 33kV upto 400kV, which includes

Our engineers have proven their skills and capabilities successfully by executing innumerable important power substation projects undertaken all over the UAE. Each site have approved safety officers to ensure safety on site as per UAE safety protocols.

 

PROCESS

Building a new substation or retrofitting the old one is a complex process full of design and engineering tasks to be worked on. The main steps in substation design and engineering are as follows:

  • Switching system

Selection of a substation switching system: ring bus, breaker-and-a-half, etc. based on reliability requirements.

  • Key plan and location of components

Preparation of a key plan which should show the location of all components of a substation and their interconnections, as well as steel structures, control house, fire walls, driveways, fence and property line.

  • Equipment selection and ordering

Selection and ordering of equipment, which is usually done in a utility company by a designated group of equipment experts.

  • Engineering support

Engineering support for NOC, licensing and approvals which includes preparation of necessary drawings sealed by professional engineers, testifying at dubai municipalities where a new substation is planned to be built and selecting means of noise mitigation if needed.

  • Construction support which includes a resolution of technical problems discovered during construction, ordering of additional materials, etc.

 

CONTRACTING SERVICES

General contracting, often referred to as a traditional delivery system, allows the owner to engage with the architect/engineer to prepare the design of the entire project. Upon design completion, the project scope is competitively bid to a construction firm for a fixed lump sum.

Our responsibilities when serving as the General Contractor include:

  • Providing all materials, labor, equipment and services.
  • Subcontracting with various trade and specialty contractors
  • Applying or assisting in the application process for permits
  • Monitoring schedule and cash flow
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Ensuring a safe and secure project site
