TRENCH SHORING

Welcome to the Trench Shoring Services by trench sheeting methodology. We do complete work from excavating the trenches and supports walls of a trench through metal framework to eliminate trench collapse. Our practical experience led to trench sheeting systems that function as a wide array of solutions for everyday civil works requirements.

A continuous sheeting shall be provided to trenches along the entire length of the trench excavation. Horizontal and vertical beams / channels are used to secure the shores in place. The use of trench sheeting system is an appropriate solution when sufficient space is not available to perform benching or sloping or where cost of benching or sloping is prohibitive as in case of deep excavation

ASSETS

The equipment / Machineries used during the trench sheeting process will depend upon the size of the trench, but the most common equipment / Machinaries utilized are:

  • Excavator or equivalent machinery
  • Crane or HIAB.
  • Mobile Arc welding machine.
  • Gas cutting equipment.
  • Oxygen and Acetylene Cylinders.
  • Aluminium ladders
  • Lifting belts
  • Safety chains with shackles
  • Steel plates, H beam , Channels
  • Tools and tackles.

MANPOWER & CERTIFICATION

Full-fledged in-house facility with competent Supervisor, Certified Welders & Safety Officer to inspect trenches and support shoring and assure trench safety.

Project Manager and Engineer shall communicate with the supervisors and safety officers to inspect trenches and explaining the dangers they face when working in the trench or confined space.

PROCESS

The trench work required to support these infrastructure projects represents some of the most critical jobs in the construction industry. The work often takes place in congested areas, on public roads, and building sites.

Centaur strictly complies with OSHAS trench safety standards and maintaining constant awareness of the hazards associated with trench work can prevent deaths and injuries. Our process of the critical actions we take to ensure safety of trench are as follows:

  • Prior to any excavation works takes place a comprehensive survey will be undertaken by the Contractor / Consultant to identify and protect any buried services that may be affected by the construction works.
  • Route marking shall be carried out by surveyor and Trial pits shall be carried out to ascertain the underground services
  • Drawings shall be generated to accurately show all elevations and structures to scale to accurately identify any/all risks envisaged during constructions works.
  • Approved NOC’s, Approved excavation profiles with coordinates and formation levels shall be in place
  • A permit to work system shall be adopted for all operations as required by the relevant authorities having jurisdiction and all construction activities shall be carried out in the presence of an under supervision of the Engineer.
  • All works shall be carried out in accordance with the Authorities HSE requirements and HSE plan
  • All relevant equipment and machineries shall be mobilized
  • Right Protective System shall be used by team
  • Process of Trench Sheeting will start after mobilization
  • The surveyor shall establish the correct setting out and alignment of the proposed trench sheeting works in accordance with the approved and issued for construction drawings of the permanent works
  • Trench excavation shall be carried out 1.2m depth and the excavated material shall be shifted
  • The H- beam shall be cut to the required size for horizontal and vertical support.
  • The horizontal beams shall be placed at the ground level.
  • The vertical beams are placed one after another at all corners and welded with horizontal beams.
  • For lifting and lowering the material crane or excavator or equivalent equipment shall be used.
  • Second layer of horizontal beams shall be placed in 2m interval from the bottom layer
  • MS sheets shall be fixed / driven all around the fabricated frame.
  • The sheets and horizontal layers of the beam shall be fixed with tack welding.
  • The further excavation shall carried out up to the formation level and the frame shall be taken down by sinking method.
  • Depending upon the depth of excavation, the number horizontal frames shall be increased.
